About Stacy...

The Frizz Girls series was not an overnight sensation. 

I have spent over 25 years as a graphic and website designer honing my skills working in Los Angeles, CA and Cincinnati, OH for Disney, Fifth Third Bancorp, Mercedes, Porsche, NBC/Universal, UCLA and other companies to create projects that exceeded client expectations. As an accomplished fine artist, my art has been on display in Los Angeles, CA, Northern Kentucky, Madison, TN, Franklin and Bowling Green, KY. I have also sold my artwork and several commissioned pieces.

In 2010, I slowly transitioned into teaching with several online companies such as WyzAnt Tutoring and Varsity Tutors covering up to 20 different subjects, before reducing my list to Art, Design, English and Social Media. I have also taught in the classroom kindergartners to adults. Today, I still tutor students online from all ages. 

I write, illustrate, design, self-publish and market every book independently.

I have a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from the University of Kentucky and a Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Design from Northern Kentucky University.

My books have been written and illustrated to educate, empower and encourage girls and women to find curl confidence in themselves so they can learn how to take care and love their natural hair texture. Every book has is a short lesson in curl confidence and natural hair care, and ends with a fun quiz and coloring page. Parents and educators can use the quiz to help kids with public speaking and expressing their opinions, learn about the differences in others, improve reading comprehension, and create mini writing and math lessons.
