Picture Books That Celebrate Curly Hair + Confidence

I created The Frizz Girls book series to help girls ages 5–13 how to love and care for their wavy or curly hair. Growing up, there wasn't a lot of knowledge and hair products for wavy and curly hair. More importantly, my mom got tired of styling my hair and instead of teaching me how to take care of it myself, she was constantly asking me if I wanted to "cut my hair". I got tired of hearing the phrase "cut your hair" for so long that when we were shopping for hair ties, she asked me if I wanted to cut my hair and I said, "yes". Little did I know that would take me on a hair journey for life.

As an adult, when I finally learned how to embrace my natural waves, I didn’t want kids like myself to go through the same struggles that I did, especially if their parent or guardian doesn't have wavy or curly hair. Through fun stories and relatable characters, The Frizz Girls empower kids to feel confident, proud, and excited about their natural hair.
