Author and illustrator Stacy Schilling says her inspiration to draw comes in random waves.
While sketching out a new idea for her new book, she said, “Some times, my best creative ideas come either while I’m driving or in the shower.”

On Saturday, March 30 from 11 am to 1 pm, Plaid Elephant Books will welcome four Kentucky creatives to the shop for a “Meet the Authors Day” event.
Visitors to the shop will have the opportunity to meet authors and illustrators, purchase their books, and learn more about the creative process. Store owner
Kate Snyder said, “Fostering these types of connections between authors or artists and the public is one important way that independent bookstores contribute to the social fabric of their communities.”

During the event, Stacy will read her first two books
in the series, Stacy Learns to Love Her Wavy Hair,
and You Can Too! and What the Frizz?!?!
How to Take Care of Your Wavy or Curly Hair Find Your Hair Type...Starring The Frizz Girls to children attending the event.
There will be children's activities available.
Limited number of books and journals will be available for purchase along with t-shirts via check or PayPal.

WHEN YOU meet Stacy Schilling, author, illustrator, and creator of a brand new line of children’s books titled “The Frizz Girls,” you immediately notice her abundance of bouncy curls. “As someone who grew up with wavy hair,” said Schilling, “my mom never showed me how to take care of it and convinced me to cut mine off at 9 years old. I did and hated it.”
